second year art and design second project

Colour project part two was just carrying on from the first part and I carried on development by creating compositions from looking through viewfinders which I stook to certain parts of my final pieces that I created for the first part of the project. I developed and changed these compositions and experimented with colours and techniques. I then chose five different compositions and created them on a bigger scale which was A3 size. Then I did four different compositions using charcoal and chalk which was under the influence of my A3 compositions and also from the pieces I did for the first part of the project. I then chose one of those compositions to draw onto my canvas which was for my final outcome, then I used acrylic paint to fill in all of the spaces. I looked at four artists which influenced me throughout the project which was, C W Twombly, Henri Matisse, Patrick Heron and also Sonia Delaunay.

These are some of the compositions that I created using a view finder on my previous final outcome in the first part of the colour project. I tried out different techniques and colours influenced by the artists I was looking at.

Here are four more compositions that I did.I tried out complementary colours, orange and blue, also I tried out warm colours, then cold colours and then cold colours with warm colours.

These are two compositions I created from looking through a view finder on my final outcome of the first part of the project. I have used a variety of techniques and patterns to experiment. For the first composition I have used complimentary colours, blue and orange and for the second one I used analogous colours yellow-orange, orange and red-orange. This was to experiment with different colours.

Here is another composition I created, this time using different types of colours. I have used cool colours together to see if it would look successful.

This is another image of one of the compositions I did. This time I experimented further with the patterns to see which ones I would like to use for my final piece.

These my A5 pieces which I did as development. I did them at A5 size so that I could experiment more with the composition, colours, techniques and patterns all at the same time and then I cold decide which parts where successful and which wasn't.

Here are a few of my compositions that I created in my book from looking at my A5 pieces and my final strips from the first part of the project.

I did them in black and white first so that I could get a better idea of the movement through the compositions.

This is my final outcome for the second part of the colour project. I did a large scale canvas and used acrylic paint as I feel this is the best media to use on canvas as you can go over it as many times as you need and also the colours are very bright which I thought was most suitable as the project is about colour.
